When the Devil Knocks (October – November 2018)

Ever feel like you’re under attack? Like life is pressing in on every side?

Well, maybe you are.

In this 3-part series, we will take an in-depth look at the devil, and how he tries to wreak havoc in our lives. Specifically:

  • 10/21: He is a liar.
  • 10/28: He is the accuser (communion).
  • 11/4: He is the destroyer (baptism).

What do these attacks look like in our lives today? What can we do to be spiritually prepared? You will not want to miss any of the weeks in this important series. And please invite a friend!

Also note that we have a baptism service on 11/4. If you would like to be baptized, please fill out a baptism packet found at the information center and return by 10/28 or you can find out more online HERE.

Baptism – Sunday, November 4, 2018

BOLD Series (September – October 2018)

We are starting a brand new series THIS Sunday!

Boldness in the Christian life can be elusive. Sure, we want to be more bold in our faith, but how do we do it? One of the themes in the book of Acts is the boldness of the apostles. This new series will examine this boldness in order to help us become more bold in our faith.

Schedule:

  • 9/23: What is Boldness?
  • 9/30: Bold Prayers
  • 10/7: Bold Speaking
  • 10/14: Bold Obedience

If you want to hear the messages from this series, or any of our other series, you can click HERE.

Don’t forget to share this post on social media for a chance at our weekly giveaway!

Supply Drive for Victims of Hurricane Florence

While we were fortunate in Elizabeth City not to bear the brunt of Hurricane Florence, there were others south of us that were not as fortunate. To assist in relief efforts, we are hosting a supply drive to help the community of Belhaven, NC.

Check out this opportunity to serve others in their time of need. All donations that are dropped off at New Community will be doubled by the church and delivered by our pastors to Belhaven. Stay tuned for more info!

UPDATE: Hurricane Florence

If you experience any damage from Hurricane Florence and you need assistance in removal of debris, please e-mail info@newcommunitychurch.net.  Please understand that we may not be able to get to you until it is safe to do so.

Please stay safe!  Stay tuned to this page, along with our pages on Facebook and Instagram, for more updates!

New Resource: YouVersion Events!

Last Sunday, we officially announced a new resource that we are starting to use on Sunday mornings.  On YouVersion events, you can find the scriptures that we are using, points from the message, other important information, and you can add your own notes as well!

If you do not have the Bible app, it is a free download!  You can download the app on Apple, Android, or any other smartphone device.

Once you open the Bible app, you will be on the main screen. Click the 3 lines on the bottom right, which is the MORE option.

On the next page, click on EVENTS.

Select the NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH event.

You can scroll down to follow along and make notes.

On the top of the event, you can click on SAVE so you can look back at your notes later.

Even if you’re not in town, you can see what we are talking about during a weekend service so you don’t miss a thing!

New Groups – Fall 2018!

Groups are a place for you to belong and grow spiritually with other people.  Groups are a place where you can find other people who will offer friendship that encourages your faith, but also cheers us on in the day-to-day life as well.

When groups come together, they have the opportunity to explore and discuss the Bible and other topics more than we can on a Sunday morning.  Groups are a place to ask questions and find real answers.

Groups are like having a family you can turn to when the hardships of life wear us out and when we need a reminder of God’s love for us.
