Last Sunday at Student Rev, we announced that we are headed to Winterfest at Liberty University this December! Here are a few things that you need to know:

WHAT: Winterfest

WHEN: December 30, 2017 – January 1, 2018

WHERE: Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who will be at Winterfest?

A: The artists that are currently scheduled to be at Winterfest are Lecrae, Switchfoot, Crowder, Zach Williams, Skillet, Andy Mineo, Hollyn, and Ryan Stevenson.

The speakers that are currently scheduled to be at Winterfest are Dr. David Wheeler, Dr. Ben Gutierrez, John Crist (comedian), and Justin Flom (magician).

Q: What does the price include?

A: The price per person includes: admission to both nights of concerts, lodging, transportation to and from Lynchburg, VA, and gas. It also includes admission to indoor basketball, indoor soccer, indoor volleyball, and the Snowflex which includes skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. It DOES NOT include money for food or spending money for merchandise.

Q: How much money do you recommend to bring?

A: We recommend bringing at least $10 for each meal. We eat at fast food places, mall food courts, and the arena. You will need enough money for breakfast on Saturday, lunch and supper on Saturday-Sunday, and lunch on Monday. Breakfast will be provided on Sunday and Monday at no additional cost. We will be back before supper on Monday so we are recommending around $60-$70. Liberty University has a bookstore that we will be visiting which does have snacks and the hotel we will be staying in has a vending machine.

Also, during each night of the concert, there will be tables set up where vendors and artists will have merchandise for sale. We will be eating lunch every day at the mall and the students will have the opportunity to walk around with other students who will be accompanied by a leader.

Q: When is the money due by?

A: A deposit of $65 is due at sign-up. This year, we only have 25 spots available. Your ticket will not be reserved until the deposit is made. Here are important dates:

November 12: last day to sign up; $65 deposit due

November 26: 50% of the remaining balance is due

December 17: remaining balance is due

Due to us reserving tickets, vans, and hotel rooms, all deposits are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another student or leader.

There will be fundraising opportunities to help with the price. If you decide to not participate in the fundraiser, you can pay the total amount of the trip, which is $200.00.

Q: How do the rooms work?

A: The rooms will have at least 1 adult leader with students in the room. Every leader who goes with us to Winterfest has a cleared background check that is on file at New Community Church. When it gets closer to the event, we will have room assignments based on gender. At no time will a male student be allowed in a female room or vice versa. There will be areas where students and leaders can hang out with each other.

Q: If I have more questions, whom do I contact?

A: You can contact our Family Ministries Director, Tim Chappell at
