Tania Urquiaga’s story

For anyone not sure about joining a Group, be sure to read Tania’s story!

Let me start by saying, I was terrified to join a small group. I had gone to New Community Church for a year but was relatively unknown to anyone in church. I thought I was content with being a face in the crowd. I was struggling with meeting new people and I knew something had to change. So, I took the plunge and signed up for a Women’s Group. Oh, and you can bet that even after signing up I debated going that first evening. With my husband as encouragement, I went. I opened myself up in ways I never thought possible. I told my story and did not feel judged. I felt accepted. I felt safe and loved. I cried, I learned and I grew in Christ. I am grateful everyday for the love, compassion and friendship God gave me from my group. I truly have life long friends to walk along side me on this journey. I am grateful everyday for the 2016 Belong Girl group and the Moody Marriage Group who opened me up to a deeper relationship with Christ. If you’re on the fence, I encourage you to step outside our fear, and come do life in circles not just rows.
